I graduated from Texas State University-San Marcos, where I completed an early childhood education bachelor's degree and obtained my certification to work with ESL students. After completing my degree, I became a 3rd grade teacher at a nearby charter school. I gained experience working as a tutor by tutoring several of my former students as well as students coming into the 3rd grade.I enjoy creating a hands-on learning environment for my students, and I believe that children retain information better when they play an active role in the learning process. Writing and reading are my favorite subjects to teach, because I believe students need to be able to read and write well to achieve future academic success. I tutor elementary school students in several areas of math, specifically 2nd grade math, 3rd grade math, arithmetic, and elementary math. I also tutor students in English, 2nd grade reading, 3rd grade reading, 2nd grade writing, 3rd grade writing, reading, writing, and phonics. Additionally, I'm available to help children with STARR, elementary-level SSAT, SSAT, lower-level ISEE, and ISEE test prep, and can also help children to improve their organization and study skills.When I have free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, such as camping. I also like to read and watch the Texans play football.
