My name is George, and I'm located in Pflugerville, Texas. I have been teaching for more than five years and am certified to teach middle school math and social sciences in Austin. I completed my undergraduate work at the University of Texas, Arlington where I studied political science and minored in mathematics. In my free time my favorite pastimes are physical activities like playing pool and volleyball or working out at the gym.I enjoy teaching both mathematics and social studies, and exploring various education strategies. I am available for tutoring in various related subject areas including calculus, government, college algebra, and American history. There are many learning styles, and students are motivated different ways, so it is important to get to know a student to be able to help them learn most effectively. I use various methods to motivate and engage students and employ a mixture of questioning and explaining in order to provide students with information as well as encourage them to engage the problem. Effective learning does require dedication and hard work, but if the student is interested and engaged it is easier for them to put in the necessary work to succeed.
